U-17 Gala

Duration: 1 day

Target group:
• Only players below or the age of 17.
• Football academies that have already established junior teams that can compete.
• All the Holiday makers that can put a team together and register to compete.
• Established football clubs with junior sides that can compete are also encouraged.
• Corporate companies that can raise a team shall also be welcome.
Aim:
• To promote the aims and objectives of SoccerUganda
• To achieve excellence in talent search.
• To promote football academies in the country
• To give the future generation a platform where they can expose their talent.

Rules:
Rules that govern the football game shall all be followed.
Time; all stages  have different time intervals
• Preliminary round: Full time 30 Minutes (extra time 7minutes)
• Quarter finals: Full time 30 Minutes(extra time 7minutes)
• Semi-finals: Full time 40 Minutes(extra time 10 minutes)
• Third place: Full time 60 Minutes(extra time 10 minutes )
• Finals: Full time 90 Minutes(extra time 15 minutes)
In case of a draw the golden goal rule shall apply in the first half of the extra time.
Each team shall have a squad of 25 players.

Format:
• The gala is played on a knock-out basis.
• A draw is held for the preliminary round with all teams.
• Six teams shall advance to the quarter finals and still a draw shall be held.
• Three teams that win their encounters shall have automatic qualification to the semis.
• The best loser during the quarter finals shall qualify as the fourth team for the semis.
• Then four teams shall play the semi finals.
• A loser’s match shall also be played between the losers of the semi final for third place.
