Academies U-17 League

 Playing format;

Due to academy financial constraints and limited sponsorship opportunities the A-League is played on a monthly basis, which is the last Sunday of the month at a selected venue. Currently we are looking at Mandela National Stadium and Kampala City Council Training ground (Lugogo).

With 10 teams this means that the season  runs for 9 month and every outing five matches shall be played. The last match day is be the awards day where the champion shall be crowned and all other outstanding performers’ awarded plus our esteemed sponsors recognized for their efforts to develop youth football in the county.

Season Fixture

The A-League committee  draws an annual fixture with tentative venues and issued to all academies/teams officials to ensure that maximum organization and time management are realised to this effect.

a. Goals: and objectives:
 Structure development
The lack of defined structures has not only thrown prominent clubs in Uganda in disrupt but it has also denied youth development in the country since there is lack of formal training and institutional development.

 Exposure
The young talented youth need it, for exposure and recognitions by not only the Ugandan local clubs but also the scouts that might be invited for such events. This might increase on our exports of professionals.

 Marketing
This has not been fully utilized and marketing football has been viewed as something that isn’t worthwhile, but with commitment and consolidated efforts this can be achieved and more sponsorship opportunities availed for the young talented stars.

 Talent Development
The A-League intends to ensure that all the young stars development is monitored and making their progress key for the future to ensure that a well football educated product is realized.

 Talent search
The search for more talent is the responsibility of all those that love football and the fact that our country is gifted with talented footballers we intend to ensure that more talented young stars are discovered to fill the gaps left by those that move on.

 Youth soccer development
Something has to be done about this and the A-League intends to ensure that youth soccer is developed from the grass root with all stakeholders that are football lovers and would love to see youth soccer take huge strides.
